Rector of the University of Warsaw
Professor Marcin Pałys has been the Rector of the University of Warsaw since September 1st, 2012.
In 1987 he graduated from the University of Warsaw with a Master’s degree in Chemistry. He went on to receive his PhD degree from the University of Twente, Netherlands, in 1992. In 2005 he completed his habilitation at the University of Warsaw and in 2010 he become Associate Professor at his alma mater.
In addition to his scientific research Prof. Pałys performed many other important functions at the University, combining scientific, educational and administrative responsibilities.
The Rector holds the membership of International Society of Electrochemistry, he also serves as an expert for the External Advisory Group, "FET Flagships" - an initiative of the European Commission.
Professor Pałys ‘ scope of interests includes: inorganic and physical chemistry, particularly research on complicated phenomena of transport in electrochemical structures; modelling of chemical processes on phase boundaries; supramolecular structures.
